Raikkonen gets grid drop after gearbox change

Ferrari’s hopes of challenging Mercedes for the win at the Japanese Grand Prix have suffered a fresh blow, with Kimi Raikkonen set for a grid penalty because of a gearbox change. Raikkonen and teammate Sebastian Vettel had left Ferrari encouraged about its progress after securing third and fourth spots respectively in qualifying at Suzuka. But a three-place grid penalty for Vettel had already moved him back, and on Sunday morning it was confirmed that Raikkonen too would be moving down the order.
