Mercedes breaks curfew to change Hamilton's fuel system
A precautionary change of the fuel system on Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes on Friday night resulted in Mercedes breaking Formula 1's staff curfew. Team personnel who are associated with the operation of the car are not supposed to be within the confines of the circuit from 11pm on Friday night until 7am on Saturday morning. However, after suspecting that there could have been an issue with Hamilton's car, the team elected to work extra late. An unspecified issue with the fuel system left Mercedes feeling it better to replace it than hope he did not suffer any reliability problems.
