Cracked Renault puts Palmer out of qualifying
Jolyon Palmer will not participate in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix after a crack was discovered in the chassis of his Renault following FP3. The Briton was 14th quickest in the final practice session, but a wide exit onto the harsh kerb coming across the finish line would damage his Renault RS16, forcing the team to withdraw him from qualifying. Set to leave him at the back of the grid, Palmer took to Twitter to express his frustration at another qualifying drama to hamper what has been more encouraging pace from Renault this weekend I won't be taking part in Quali after we found a crack in the chassis. Big shame as we were 14th in FP3 and aiming for Q2 again. #MexicanGP
