Alonso: McLaren pace 'extremely positive'
– Fernando Alonso says McLaren can target a points finish at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after he qualified in ninth position.Alonso was only 13th in Q1 but made it through to Q2 in 10th spot, having edged out Williams rival Valtteri Bottas by just 0.04s on his final run.Despite failing to match his Q2 time in the final shootout session, Alonso's effort was nonetheless sufficient for him to beat Felipe Massa to ninth spot."I think we have to be happy today: it was definitely a good qualifying for us," he said."Our car felt competitive, and making it into Q3 and finishing ninth in the final qualifying session of the season is extremely positive."We...
