Silverstone to open motorsport museum
– A museum is to open at Silverstone after being awarded a £9.1 million lottery grant.Silverstone Heritage Experience, which will be housed in the only remaining World War II hangar at the former aerodrome, is aimed at bringing "the extensive heritage of Silverstone and British motor racing to life".Iconic racing cars and bikes from all eras will go on display, while the latest technology will be used to tell the stories of people who have been part of the site's history, stretching back to medieval times.A Collections and Research Centre, offering museum and archive storage for the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC), will also be based there, as well as a library and...
