No Mercedes driver decision until New Year

Mercedes have revealed that no decision will be made on the identity of their second driver until after the Christmas and New Year period. Days after securing his maiden world championship, Nico Rosberg retired from Formula One with immediate effect, leaving Mercedes to find a replacement driver. Williams' Valtteri Bottas and Mercedes development driver Pascal Wehrlein are the front-runners for the vacant seat, with Mercedes recently offering Williams a discount on their engines as an incentive to release Bottas from his contract.
