Massa will be ‘instrumental' in Williams' progress

Claire Williams believes Felipe Massa with his 15 years experience in Formula 1 will be 'instrumental' in driving Williams' 2017 development. This season Formula 1 is embracing a host of new technical regulations including wider wings and tyres, all aimed at making the cars up to five seconds per lap faster. The changes mean experience could count for a lot, which was one of the reasons why Williams brought Massa out of retirement when they lost Valtteri Bottas to Mercedes. Deputy team boss Williams reckons the Brazilian will play a key role in helping the Grove team develop their car throughout the season.
