Chinese GP: Hamilton beats Vettel to pole, Verstappen out in Q1

Lewis Hamilton beat Sebastian Vettel to pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver emerging on top in a very close battle on Saturday. Hamilton's best of 1:31.678 put him 0.186s ahead of his Ferrari rival, the winner of the previous race in Australia. It was Hamilton's 63rd career pole and the sixth in a row. Hamilton's Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas will start third after finishing just 0.001s behind Vettel. Kimi Raikkonen qualified in fourth in the second Ferrari, nearly half a second off the pace. Daniel Ricciardo was the quickest Red Bull in fifth, ahead of Williams' Felipe Massa and the Renault of Nico Hulkenberg. Red Bull's Max Verstappen was knocked out in Q1...
