Renault breaks curfew to change Jolyon Palmer's chassis as a precaution

Renault has changed Jolyon Palmer’s chassis prior to third practice for the Russian Grand Prix as a precaution. Renault carried out the work after Palmer’s initial chassis ‘received a lot of heat caused by an exhaust leak yesterday.’ The team broke the curfew in order to carry out the work but, as it was the first of two permitted ‘jokers’ in 2017, no action has been taken by stewards. Due to the changing of the survival cell, Palmer’s car will be re-scrutineered before the third practice session at the Sochi Autodrom.
