Ferrari success shows you can win without Newey - Massa

Former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa says the Italian outfit's early success in 2017 shows teams can compete at the top in Formula 1 without relying on star names like Red Bull's Adrian Newey. Ferrari, which won only three races during 2014-2016 and hasn't taken an F1 title since 2008, has hit the ground running this year and currently leads the drivers' championship with Sebastian Vettel. Having parted ways with star technical director James Allison midway through last year, the manufacturer decided to prioritise the promotion of homegrown talent and introduced a more horizontal structure within its tech department.
