Mercedes reveals F1's new larger numbers look
The Mercedes F1 team has revealed the updated car numbers and names it will sport during the Spanish Grand Prix following a request by the FIA to make them more visible. The ruling body said at the end of last month that, starting at the Barcelona event, numbers and names had to match the minimum requirements set. From the Spanish GP, it has been mandated that race numbers should be at least 230mm high, and that the names should be 150mm, and on the external bodywork. On Wednesday, Mercedes became the first F1 team to reveal the updated numbers and names. The German team has used the car's shark fin for the bigger number and the drivers' short name.
