Whiting warns drivers over chicane cutting
– Formula 1 Race Director Charlie Whiting has warned drivers about cutting chicanes ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, amid another clampdown.In recent years, the FIA has moved to stop drivers cutting across the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve's final chicane, with higher kerbs and a polystyrene block installed.These deterrents will remain in place for 2017, with the system now extended to the third chicane, covering Turns 9/10, where gravel run-off has been replaced by tarmac.Race Director Whiting's pre-event notes outlined the warning."Any driver who fails to negotiate Turn 9 by using the track, and who passes completely to the left of the orange kerb element on the apex...
