Hamilton leads Vettel in opening practice
ercedes driver Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets during Friday morning's opening free practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix, ahead of Ferrari rival and championship leader Sebastian Vettel.In cool, overcast conditions, on a dusty Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, all three of Pirelli's compounds appeared early on, as drivers gradually got up to speed.Ferrari used the Ultra Soft tyre from the outset, and duly set the early pace, before Mercedes moved on to the purple-marked rubber, and eventually slotted ahead.Hamilton made several improvements as the session developed to become the only driver to break into the 1m13s bracket, finishing two-tenths clear of Vettel.Vettel recovered from an...
