Fernando Alonso would be open to future IndyCar switch

Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso says he would be open to a full-time switch to IndyCar in the future, after racing at this year’s Indianapolis 500. The Spaniard opted to miss the Monaco Grand Prix to race the Indy 500 with McLaren, Honda and Andretti, spending stints in the lead and looking set for strong result before his engine failed in the closing stages. Alonso has returned to F1 for the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, but called into NBC’s broadcast of IndyCar’s race in Texas on Saturday evening.
