Renault's Sergey Sirotkin gets FP1 run in Austria

Renault tester Sergey Sirotkin will carry out duties during the opening practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix on Friday. Sirotkin will pilot Nico Hülkenberg’s car for the 90-minute session for his third practice run of the campaign. Sirotkin, following a test run in Bahrain, sampled the R.S.17 in Russia and Spain, though both of his sessions were scuppered due to mechanical issues. Sirotkin, 21, finished third in last year’s GP2 championship, though has not raced full-time this season. Despite not having a full-time race deal, the Russian participated in the Le Mans 24 Hours and recently deputised for the injured Alexander Albon in Formula 2.
