BRDC activates 2019 British GP break clause

– The British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC), owners of Silverstone, has announced that it has activated a break clause in its contract with Formula 1 to drop the British Grand Prix after the 2019 event.Silverstone, which hosted the inaugural Formula 1 race back in 1950, has been the home of the British Grand Prix since 1987, and penned a contract extension in 2010, through to 2026.It was revealed last December that the BRDC was considering activating a clause in its contract which allowed the organisation to drop the British Grand Prix following the 2019 running of the event.Under the terms of the contract the BRDC had to signal its intentions to do so prior to the 2017 running of the...
