STR cleared after wheel tether tape incident

– The FIA has cleared Toro Rosso of any wrongdoing after the team was alleged to have attempted to enter a car in unsafe condition into this weekend's British Grand Prix.On Thursday, Toro Rosso was discovered to have submitted Carlos Sainz Jr.'s STR12 with damaged wheel tether tape, and the squad was reported to the stewards as a result.Stewards convened on Friday morning and decreed that Toro Rosso had not attempted to misled the Technical Delegate, and that it had replaced the relevant part, enabling the car to pass scrutineering.A statement added that the FIA will work to "review the manufacturing process" of the tethers.Full stewards' explanation:1.
