Formula 1 boss wants more German manufacturer teams

Formula 1 boss Chase Carey says he is keen to see more German manufacturers involved in the sport, particularly as the country has a rich history in motorsport as well as it's present success in F1. His comments come as Porsche is considering its future in the World Endurance Championship, with a belief that the supercar maker could switch to F1 as it offers far greater marketing opportunities than the endurance series. Meanwhile Porsche and sister company Audi were involved in a recent Power Unit Working Group meeting alongside current manufacturers Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari, to discuss the future direction of F1's engine.
