F1 completes first 'truly live' 360º video trial
– Formula 1, in conjunction with technology partner Tata Communications, successfully completed the first test of "truly live" 360º video at the Singapore Grand Prix.Formula 1 organised the test in a bid to demonstrate how the experience of a race weekend, in and around a circuit, can be augmented for fans around the world.To date, any 360º video experiments in sports have featured a 30-second delay to live TV feeds, which has prevented a widespread adoption of the technology.Two 360º cameras were installed at Marina Bay, trackside and in the paddock, "to show how viewers at home could immerse themselves in the world of F1".F1 aims to create this virtual...
