Stricter F1 jump start rules in 2018
Sebastian Vettel's Chinese Grand Prix start has led to a change to regulations The FIA will make Formula 1 jump start rules stricter next year, meaning that penalties could be issued even if the automated detection system is not triggered. False starts were an issue at the Austrian Grand Prix when winner Valtteri Bottas appeared to move early but went unpunished. Rival drivers believed that Bottas could not have reacted so quickly without anticipating the start.
