Pirelli: One-stop preferred Malaysia strategy

– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has outlined the ideal strategy for the Malaysian Grand Prix, believing a one-stop Super Soft/Soft approach will be quickest for drivers.Pirelli has nominated the Super Soft, Soft and Medium compounds to cope with the demands placed upon the tyres by the Sepang International Circuit, which features several high-speed sections.Should dry conditions prevail, the top 10 will start on the Super Softs, with the remaining drivers free to choose the compound they will run during the first stint.In theory, the ideal strategy for the 56-lap race, with manageable degradation, is a 15 to 23 lap run on Super Softs, before a stint to the chequered flag on...
