Hamilton fastest again in second United States GP practice

Lewis Hamilton continued his impressive start to the United States Grand Prix weekend by leading the Formula 1 field in second practice on Friday afternoon, finishing almost four-tenths of a second clear at the Circuit of The Americas. Four-time COTA winner Hamilton led a wet-dry opening practice on Friday morning before stretching the legs of his Mercedes W08 car in a dry FP2, setting a new track record in the process. A fastest time of 1:34.668 on the ultra-soft tyre saw Hamilton finish 0.397 seconds clear of Red Bull rival Max Verstappen in the final timesheets, stamping his authority on proceedings early in the race weekend.
