Ricciardo left confused after lacking grip in Mexico qualifying

Daniel Ricciardo said he felt "confused" by his lack of grip and struggles to get his tyres to warm up during Formula 1 qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix on Saturday as he struggled to seventh place in the final classification. Ricciardo finished over nine-tenths of a second back from pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel in qualifying, with a slow final lap also causing him to drop outside of the top six and slip behind Force India's Esteban Ocon. Red Bull had been expected to impress in Mexico, and Max Verstappen was able to lead the team's charge by taking P2, narrowly missing out on pole, but Ricciardo was left perplexed by his issues.
