Alonso spins into the gravel, McLaren MCL33 loses wheel

Fernando Alonso's McLaren is in the gravel at the final corner. Eight-rear wheel is missing from the car. The Spaniard was on a purple lap before the gravel trap. He literally drove the wheels off the car. Following the incident, Alonso was assessed the right-rear of the car, it could well be that the wheel simply worked its way loose and pitched him into a spin, the uncertainty must be whether the wheel became separated before the crash… more to follow
