Alonso: We are McLaren so we should be there

In the wake of a problem packed Formula 1 preseason testing in Barcelona, McLaren driver Fernando Alonso is confident his team will be closer to the frontrunners by the second half of the season when he hopes to pull off some surprise results. Alonso told reporters ahead of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix weekend, “I understand that we are not at the level of Mercedes now or the level of Red Bull or Ferrari – or that’s what we think after winter testing – so we are not in that leading group yet.'
