Ricciardo takes pole with a monster lap around Monaco!

Daniel Ricciardo will start on pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix after leaving his rivals chasing. The Australian set an incredible 1:10.810 to put his Red Bull firmly on pole, one of the most important of the season. Q1 was the usual high traffic affair with drivers trying to find the space to set a lap. Valtteri Bottas was the big name in danger going into the final five minutes but set a very good lap that saw him through. Max Verstappen’s FP3 crash and subsequent gearbox change will mean he starts last. Charles Leclerc and Sergey Sirotkin fought their way out of Q1 with superb laps that saw them comfortably through into the next session. Their pace wasn’t good enough...
