Valencia set to be Formula E pre-season test venue

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia is set to be retained as the pre-season testing venue for Formula E’s 2018/19 season. The venue for pre-season testing was switched from the series’ base at Donington Park after three years for the Spanish venue after complaints that the circuit did not represent the street circuits Formula E typically races on, and that it was too cold or rainy to gather any meaningful data. A temporary chicane was added on the pit straight in Valencia to help recreate a street circuit, although it was met with severe criticism from the drivers as its concrete elements had a tendency to do significant damage to the cars if hit, even at low speed.
