Alonso: "Triple crown is on and soon"

It’s been no secret. Fernando Alonso has been hunting down the triple crown for some time now, and on Sunday he edged even closer. Amid rumours of a switch to Indycar Alonso confirms the triple crown will come “soon”. Alonso won Monaco, the first third of the triple crown, over a decade ago. He entered the Indy500 just last year but missed out despite running well.  “Yeah, yeah, it’s true the Triple Crown is on,” Alonso said to motorsport.com.  “We have two, let’s see if we can achieve the Indy 500 soon.”  British racing legend Graham Hill is the only driver to win all three coveted events.
