French Grand Prix: Hamilton wins Vettel stumbles

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton regained the world championship points lead after winning the French Grand Prix in commanding style while his main rivals Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas collided on the opening lap. Hamilton who qualified on pole powered to victory in the 53 lap race, the first grand prix in France since 2008, without much of a challenge and in control throughout the afternoon. His title rival, Vettel who led the championship before the race at Circuit Paul Ricard, was on the back foot all afternoon after tagging the back of Bottas' Mercedes and smashing his front wing.
