Doctors confirm Lauda's recovery is going well
The doctors treating Niki Lauda say his recovery from his lung transplant is going well. He is making progress and is expected to make a full recovery. Lauda was fully conscious and could be extubated, and breathe independently 24 hours after the operation. The statement continued issued by the Austrian General Hospital and Medical University of Vienna confirms the developments since the operation have been "very satisfactory." It continued: "Since then there has been a continuous improvement. All organs function well. The patient will continue to be cared for at AKH Wien until he recovers completely."
