F1 drivers face lap time deletion over T11 track limits

Formula 1 drivers have been warned that their lap times will be deleted should they exceed track limits through Turn 11 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The Turn 11 left-hand kink is the last part of the Esses section, of which much of the second sector is composed at the Mexican Grand Prix. In his revised event notes F1 Race Director Charlie Whiting outlined the instructions to drivers, taking a similar stance to how the Circuit of the America’s Turn 19 was dealt with last weekend. “If a driver crosses the kerb on the exit of Turn 11 during qualifying and, as a result, no part of the car remains in contact with the red and white section of the kerb, the lap time of the...
