F1 confirms Vietnam GP to join 2020 calendar

Formula 1 has officially announced that the Vietnam Grand Prix will join its calendar for the 2020 season, with a new street circuit set to be built in the capital city of Hanoi. F1 has been evaluating a potential race in Vietnam for a number of years, with plans accelerating since the sport’s takeover by Liberty Media in 2017. 5774263478001 CrashTV:  FIA race director Charlie Whiting visited the proposed site in Hanoi en route to Japan in October and said it was on course for a race in 2020, with plans being officially confirmed by F1 on Wednesday.
