Toto Wolff praises 'founding father' Michael Schumacher on F1 legend's birthday

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has praised the role Michael Schumacher played in Mercedes’ eventual success in Formula 1, on the occasion of the seven-time World Champion’s 50th birthday. Schumacher competed in sportscars with Mercedes before moving into Formula 1 in 1991, and linked up with the manufacturer for their respective returns to the championship in 2010. Schumacher took one podium finish with Mercedes during his three-year spell with the team, during which it competed mainly in the midfield, before retiring at the end of 2012.
