Sirotkin spent winter reflecting on 2018 before signing Renault deal
Renault's returning reserve driver Sergey Sirotkin says he returned to Russia to spend a reflective winter at home after losing his race seat with the Williams team. The 2018 Williams F1 racer is facing a year on the sidelines of the sport after being replaced at Williams. This was after Williams decided against continuing with the services of the Russian driver for 2019 and instead chose a new driver line-up in Robert Kubica & George Russell. However, Sirotkin's F1 aspirations have been thrown a lifeline as he returns to the Renault team as their reserve driver for 2019.
