Honda 'relaxed' after Aussie podium, but no change to targets
©RedBull Phillip van Osten 19/03/2019 at 09:2719/03/2019 at 09:27 Honda won't relent on its engineering efforts to bridge the performance gap with the front-runners despite its podium finish in Melbourne. Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen brought the Japanese manufacturer its first top-three finish in F1 since Silverstone in 2008, a result that clearly validated Honda's progress over the winter. Honda F1 technical director Toyoharu Tanabe obviously welcomed Sunday's podium but insisted that Mercedes and Ferrari still enjoyed a healthy lead on the power unit front.
