Steiner: Haas performance crippled by tyre graining phase
Haas boss Guenther Steiner says the team's current tyre issues are rooted in its car's inability to deal with the graining phase of Pirelli's new thinner tread rubber. Haas' tyre problems this season, which have undermined the performance of its 2019 contender since Bahrain, have been well chronicled, with temperatures and a narrow operating window at the center of its issues. Last week's Azerbaijan Grand Prix offered Haas' more of the same in terms of exposing its Vf-19 to its tyre weakness, with neither Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen finishing in the points.
