Brown still feels the pressure, but now having 'more fun'
McLaren F1 boss Zak Brown says the Woking-based outfit's encouraging season hasn't alleviated the pressure associated with his job, but it has brought "a lot more fun". Brown took over from former McLaren supremo Ron Dennis at the end of 2016, but the marketing guru was thrown in at the deep end, with the team's dismal performance and crumbling relationship with Honda to contend with in 2017. A switch to Renault power last year hardly improved McLaren's fortunes as F1's second most successful outfit remained pinned down by its weak results mainly linked to its mediocre MCL33 chassis.
