Hamilton and Mercedes primed to bounce back in Singapore

Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton can return Mercedes to the top of the podium this Sunday with an unprecedented fifth win in Singapore where Ferrari may not be as mighty as they were at Spa and Monza. Hamilton ended day one on the floodlit streets of Marina Bay fastest of all and after FP2 the team reported that they were happy with their car. Next best, Red Bull's Max Verstappen was within a couple of tenths of the top time, the Dutchman also upbeat with his car in the wake of two races that did the Honda-powered package no favours. Third on the timing screens, Sebastian Vettel was fastest of the Ferrari duo but eight-tenths of a second shy of Hamilton on a tough day for the Reds...
