Verstappen questions FIA after branding Leclerc 'irresponsible'

Red Bull Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen says Charles Leclerc’s driving at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix was “irresponsible” as the pair clashed on the opening lap. Leclerc lost ground at the start, enabling Verstappen to look to the outside on the run to the fast, right-hander at Turn 1, but the duo collided at the apex of Turn 2 as Leclerc understeered into the Dutchman. Verstappen was forced wide and dropped down the order with car damage that ultimately forced him into an early retirement, while Leclerc also suffered front wing damage but recovered to take sixth.
