Toro Rosso boss gives theory on Gasly failures

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost believes that Pierre Gasly’s disappointing campaign with Red Bull in 2019 is down to the two crashes he had in pre-season testing, which dented his confidence with his new team. With Daniel Ricciardo moving to Renault, Red Bull chose Gasly as his replacement with him being promoted from junior team Toro Rosso. Article continues under video However, it has been a torrid season for Gasly, so much so that Red Bull took the decision to demote him back to Toro Rosso, with Alexander Albon going in the other direction.
