Verstappen ‘surprised' to split Mercedes at Sochi qualifying

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has admitted surprise over his P2 qualifying position for the Russian Grand Prix, stating he was not expecting to start the race on the front row. It marks just the second time this year that Verstappen has qualified in the top two positions, as he eyes up his seventh podium of the season on Sunday.
