January 12th marks a few former F1 driver's birthdays….January 12th Emerson Fittipaldi wins the 1975 Argentine Grand Prix On this day, racing legend Emerson Fittipaldi beat out local favorite Carlos Reutemann and future World Champion James Hunt to claim his second Argentine Grand Prix victory, having previously won there in 1973. Driving the McLaren M23, Fittipaldi beat his closest competitor, James Hunt, by a six second interval after an unfortunate spin of Hunt’s Hesketh enabled the Brazilian to take the lead.
