Testing Day 1: Verstappen tops the timesheet, Mercedes struggle

Max Verstappen has topped the timesheets after the first day of testing in preparation for the 2021 Formula 1 season. In the process, the Dutchman posted over 130 laps in what was a positive day for the Red Bull team. In contrast, Mercedes experienced a difficult morning with Valtteri Bottas posting just six laps. Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton sat in the cockpit this afternoon but he didn't have an incident-free session either.  The Dutchman completed both the morning and afternoon session.
