Marko: "If Audi comes knocking, we'll evaluate the partnership"

Red Bull Racing's current idea is to build their own engines from 2025 onwards. But should Audi be interested in a partnership, it's certainly an option to evaluate says advisor Helmut Marko. Maybe no Red Bull engines after all Red Bull has always been a customer team. It has used engines from Cosworth, Ferrari, Renault and Honda during their time in Formula 1. However, the co-operation with Honda is a lot closer, as the Japanese manufacturer does not have a factory team in Formula 1. Honda is stepping out of Formula 1 after 2021, but because being a semi-factory team has worked out well, Red Bull wants to build its own engines from 2025 onwards.
