Monza renames Parabolica in honour of Michele Alboreto
Monza circuit has renamed its famous Parabolica corner 'Curva Alboreto' in honour of the late Italian Grand Prix driver. Michele Alboreto, a five-time winner in Formula 1 in the 1980s, twice with Tyrrell and three times with Ferrari, was tragically killed twenty years ago at the age of 44 while testing for the Audi sportscar team at the Lausitzring. Monza's Parabolica - the final long right-hand sweep that leads onto the main straight – is one of motorsport's most famed corners and will be rechristened during a ceremony that is scheduled to be held on the Saturday of the Italian Grand Prix which will take place later this month.
