Eight years ago today: Schumacher's devastating skiing accident
Today it is eight years since Michael Schumacher was involved in a serious skiing accident. The respect for Schumacher and his achievements has never disappeared and sympathy is still noticable today. On 29 December 2013, things went wrong for the then 44-year-old former racing driver. He hit his head on a stone during a fall and sustained severe brain damage as a result. What exactly happened that day and how he is doing now has been unknown ever since. The Schumacher family wants to keep his recovery private and we respect that. Although the German did cause some controversy when he drove in Formula 1, he was a legend on and off the track.
