'Jerez is vying for Russia's spot on the 2022 calendar'

The Grand Prix of Russia has been removed from the calendar in 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since the race was scrapped, more and more circuits have expressed interest in replacing the Grand Prix. Jerez is the latest name eager to host the replacement race. The 2022 Russian Grand Prix was scheduled for the weekend of September 23 to 25.
