Perez ‘still the second driver' – Albers
May 31 Two former F1 drivers doubt Sergio Perez can mount a challenge for the 2022 drivers' world championship. After the Mexican won in Monaco, many hailed it as the start of a true three-way battle for the drivers' title – as Perez is only 6 points behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Championship leader Max Verstappen's father Jos, however, chided Red Bull for not doing more to get the Dutch 24-year-old past Perez. 'Red Bull achieved a good result, but at the same time exerted little influence to help Max to the front,' he said. 'The chosen strategy turned completely to Checo's favour.
