Alonso praises Aston Martin for having made inroads since Miami
F1 Grand Prix, GP Spain, Circuit de Catalunya On the back of another strong qualifying showing at the Spanish Grand Prix, Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso has praised the Silverstone-based outfit for having achieved big improvement since the Miami race. Fernando Alonso did not look particularly strong on Friday, but whatever the Spaniard made with his car worked. The Spaniard progressed into the last segment of qualifying with an impressive lap in Q2. Alonso then came out midway through the final part of qualifying, opting for clean air over track evolution and wound up 10th as he chases his first points of the year.
