Canadian GP: Verstappen tops FP1 as Leclerc crashes

13/06/2025 at 19:5113/06/2025 at 20:01 Red Bull’s Max Verstappen topped the opening practice for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, the Dutch ace heading the Williams cars of Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. The session kicked off under sunny skies at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve but a significant lack of grip made for a slippery track surface that caught out multiple drivers in an action-packed FP1, which saw everything from spins and grass excursions to a session-stopping crash.
